چکیده

A 15‐year‐old girl complaining of reduced visual acuity (VA) in both eyes since 2 months before was referred to our retina service in January 2011. Best corrected visual acuity was 5/10 in both eyes. External eye examination was normal. Biomicroscopy revealed +1 anterior chamber cells and +1 old vitreous cells bilaterally. Other anterior segment structures and intraocular pressure (IOP) were normal in both eyes. Fundus examination revealed the presence of circinate exudative maculopathy, optic disc swelling, multiple tied knot‐like aneurysmal dilations of peripapillary and optic disc retinal arterioles (macro‐aneurysms), and diffuse retinal vasculitis, bilaterally [Figure 1]. Fluorescein angiography disclosed the presence of saccular aneurysms at the bifurcation of arterioles, optic disc leakage, extensive peripheral non‐perfusion areas and vessel wall staining of arteries and veins especially at the border of peripheral non‐perfusion areas [Figure 2]. Systemic workup including complete blood count (CBC), erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), C‐reac t ive prote in (CRP) , pur i f ied prote in derivat ive (PPD), venereal disease research Optical Coherence Tomography Features in Idiopathic Retinal Vasculitis, Aneurysms and Neuroretinitis Syndrome

Intravitreal Bevacizumab for Macular Edema from Idiopathic Retinal Vasculitis, Aneurysms, and Neuroretinitis.

To assess the potential visual benefit of intravitreal bevacizumab in a patient with macular edema from idiopathic retinal vasculitis, aneurysms, and neuroretinitis, an intravitreal injection of bevacizumab (1.25 mg) was given. Within 1 week, visual acuity improved from 20/60 to 20/30 and optical coherence tomography demonstrated resolution of macular edema. There was no adverse effect. The mac...

Optical Coherence Tomograpic Features in Idiopathic Retinitis, Vasculitis, Aneurysms and Neuroretinitis (IRVAN)

The purpose of this was to evaluate the Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) findings in Idiopathic retinitis, vasculitis, aneurysms and neuroretinitis (IRVAN). In this observational case series, three patients with IRVAN were evaluated. The patients underwent complete ophthalmological examination including best-corrected Snellen visual acuity, slit-lamp biomicroscopy, applanation tonometry, fund...

Rapid Regression of Exudative Maculopathy in Idiopathic Retinitis, Vasculitis, Aneurysms and Neuroretinitis Syndrome after Intravitreal Ranibizumab

The idiopathic retinitis, vasculitis, aneurysms and neuroretinitis syndrome is a rare retinal vascular disorder characterized by multiple leaking aneurysmal dilations, retinal vasculitis, neuroretinitis and peripheral vascular ischemia. Visual loss mainly occurs due to the development of retinal neovascularization and/or exudative maculopathy. Although the treatment of choice has not yet been e...

PURPOSE To describe an unusual case of idiopathic retinal vasculitis, aneurysms, and neuroretinitis syndrome associated with a positive perinuclear antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody test. METHODS This is an interventional case report. A 22-year-old man with decreased vision underwent ophthalmoscopic, angiographic, and laboratory evaluation. The left eye underwent laser therapy due to circin...

Idiopathic retinal vasculitis, aneurysms, and neuroretinitis (IRVAN) syndrome: clinical perspectives

Idiopathic retinal vasculitis, aneurysms, and neuroretinitis (IRVAN) syndrome typically affects young, healthy individuals. Despite the dramatic fundus appearance seen in this syndrome, these patients are usually asymptomatic. The syndrome includes peculiar vascular abnormalities in the form of multiple aneurysmal dilatations seen along retinal arterioles and optic nerve-head arterioles, which ...
